Course Description:

Hole 1 - Fairway bunkers to the right and to the left define the straightforward first. A good drive leaves a short iron to a large blind green guarded by two bunkers to the right of the green.

Hole 2 - A blind drive to the right of the fairway leaves a short iron to a green that is three clubs long. Beware the fairway bunkers. It pays to check the bunkers & flag position from the first tee!

Hole 3 - Play the right-left dog leg as the hole was designed to give you the best line into an elevated undulating green. Beware trouble to the right of the fairway and the green.

Hole 4 - A deceptively challenging short hole. A good mid-iron to a wedge-shaped well bunkered target will still leave you with work to do on the undulating green.

Hole 5 - A good drive to the left of the fairway is needed to give yourself a medium iron to a sloping green set in front of the club house. Stay below the hole to get your par.

Hole 6 - The course begins to toughen. A good drive down the left side will give an easier approach to a plateau green which is guarded by bunkers to the left.

Hole 7 - A fairway wood or iron off the tee ought to keep your tee shot on the fairway to the right of the mound and short of trouble. A well struck medium iron will find the blind plateau green. To go through this green will guarantee at least a one over par.

Hole 8 - Another deceptive par three, which has wrecked many cards. Terminal trouble lies to the right of the green. For safety take a club less to the front of the green.

Hole 9 - Known by members as a good birdie chance but a bogie threat. A good blind drive favours the right hand side but beware out of bounds. The well guarded, two-tier elevated green has bunkers and a water hazard to the right.

Hole 10 - The prevailing wind and hazards all around the green make this another intimidating short hole.

Hole 11 - The ideal blind drive is played to the left of the marker and if the wind is blowing, the second should approach the green from the left. Bunkers to the front-left and front-right of the green and a swale to the right deter over-ambition.

Hole 12 - Drive to the left of the mound to give yourself the easier approach. Use the mound to the right of the green as a back-guard to your approach, unless you are certain of hitting the treacherous green with a well struck short iron.

Hole 13 - A par three that would grace any championship course; a tough tee shot into the prevailing wind, with out of bounds to the right; and a tougher chip and putt if you miss your initial target.

Hole 14 - Your blind drive needs to favour the right of the marker. This is followed by a blind approach to the green, set in a bowl. Beware the two invisible bunkers on the mound in front of the green.

Hole 15 - Your best drive to the right of the marker is required to clear the cross bunkers. A hidden burn crosses the fairway just short of the green but too bold and you are out of bounds beyond the green.

Hole 16 - A par on this hole makes your day and a birdie makes your week. Your best drive is needed to the left hand side of the fairway. You may then glimpse the flag behind the hill that guards the front of the green.

Hole 17 - Another superb par four requiring a good drive to the right hand side of the fairway. The green sits invitingly below you with the burn running in front. The approach has decided many a match and made or marred many a card.

Hole 18 - You have a birdie opportunity to finish but dangers are ever present. Play the right-left dog leg to give you the best long approach to the green. Watch out for the bunker to the front-left of the green.
